Advisory Services

Middle South's advisory services are based on proven, field-tested, analytical and evaluative processes and procedures.

If you want to improve your business, we suggest the following 4 step Business Improvement Process:

  1. Diagnose

  2. Plan

  3. Implement

  4. Exit

Step 1 - The Diagnosis

The Diagnosis determines where the business is today and its profit potential.  The Diagnosis is customized to address the unique conditions, concerns and procedures of each individual business. An in-depth examination is performed without disrupting the daily workflow.

Upon completion of The Diagnosis, Middle South provides a confidential review of the findings, its recommendations and specific dollar benefits that can be obtained by making the identified improvements.  For more detailed information on the benefits of The Diagnosis, see "Benefits of The Diagnosis".

The Diagnosis :

  • determines which areas of your business can be improved

  • determines how much - in dollars and cents - your business can be improved

  • identifies opportunities to improve

    •  your cash flow* / profitability

    •  your work flow

    •  your bottom line

* Why cash flow?

For answers to your questions, see "The Diagnosis  - Questions and Answers".

The Diagnosis includes:

  • a calculations of your

    • Cost Control Effectiveness

  • a review of your processes and procedures

  • a review of your organizational problems

  • a review of quality improvement opportunities

The Diagnosis Provides Sound, Actionable Information Specific to Your Business

At your personal presentation of The Diagnosis findings, you will know the specific dollar amounts associated with specific improvements that can be made in your business.

After your Diagnosis, you will know your "upside potential" and your business' "Low Hanging Fruit".  You decide if you want to implement all, some or none of the identified improvements.

If the Improvements Identified in The Diagnosis do not Exceed Five Times (5x) Your Investment in The Diagnosis, Your Investment  is 100% Refunded - No Hassles

The best way to get the cash flow improvements you want is to continue with the our other 3 steps of the Business Improvement Process.  You can make these improvements on you own, or we can implement the improvements and increase your cash flow and the value of your business.  We put a team of qualified consultants on-site for you supported by a Project Leader with access to Middle South's extensive network of professionals and in-house resources.

The other steps of the Business Improvement Process are:

Step 2 - Improvement Planning

  • Before you pull the trigger on the improvements identified and quantified in The Diagnosis, some advance planning is needed

  • Frequently a full GAAP-based financial forecast, customized to your specific business improvements, is desirable

  • If you are seeking capital to implement identified improvements, we can help, as you will require access to lenders and a business plan including a full GAAP-based financial forecast

Step 3 -  Improvement Implementation

  • After planning an efficient, structured improvement program, implement the improvement strategy developed in the Planning phase

  • Quality principles and practices are frequently utilized in this implementation process

Step 4 - Exit Strategy Implementation

All business owners face the same limited number of choices in the Exit Strategy:

  • pass business to family members

    • requires longest lead time in planning

  • sell to third party

    • 1+ year planning required

  • close the doors

    • 6 month process
